Cancer support vi Fund
The Cancer Support VI Fund is set up with the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands. It provides funds for USVI cancer patients based on insurance status:
• Insured - $2,500
• MAP - $4,000
• Uninsured - $5,000
Patient Grants can help cover the following medical and non-medical expenses:
• Medical treatment, tests, etc.
• Flight, hotel accommodations, car rental etc. for patients traveling for treatment
• Hospice care
• Assistance with bills
You must be a resident of the US Virgin Islands to qualify.

The American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society US Virgin Islands Financial Assistance Program aids cancer patients via the ACS National Cancer Information Center (NCIC) and the ACS Puerto Rico Patient Service Center (PSC). The Financial Assistance Program is available to every insured, uninsured and ineligible for health care cancer patient who is a citizen of the United States, permanent resident of the US Virgin Islands and has physical and/or postal address in the US Virgin Islands.
VI Medicaid Program (Medical Assistance Program)
Medicaid is a government-sponsored program that provides health care coverage assistance for people with low-incomes. The joint program, funded by the federal government and administered at the state level, varies. Patients receive assistance with paying for doctor visits, long-term medical, custodial care costs, hospital stays, and more.
Medicaid covers members of the following groups that meet income, asset, USVI residency, and citizenship criteria:
Pregnant women
Children under age 21
CHIP children under age 19
TANF children and adults
Blind and Disabled
Income standard for the categorically eligible for a family of one is $15,654.
For Aged, Blind or Disabled, for a family of one the standard income level is $20,833.
