What is your name & affiliation with CSVI?
My name is Chloe Rosey and I am a loved one to someone that received care from CSVI.
What does the Colors of Cancer campaign mean to you?
The Colors of Cancer campaign means so much to me. One meaning is the idea of “paying it forward” to others in the community that are dealing with a tough diagnosis of cancer. Two, spreading the word about the resources that Cancer Support VI offers to Virgin Islanders, no matter what age. Last, is the remembrance of my late fiancé and his young life that was taken way too soon from a vicious journey of stomach cancer. Bobby was so giving to friends and family in need and remembering him also means remembering his vibrant/ colorful personality and his “pay it forward” spirit.
How has CSVI assisted you/your loved one?
CSVI assisted Bobby to get where he needed to go in a timely manner with confidence and resources under his belt. In such short notice, the team was able to provide us with information and finances as a stepping stone for travel and to receive care stateside when there wasn’t much available for him here on St. Thomas.
Would you refer others to seek assistance from CSVI?
100 times over! It is a resource that should be utilized by everyone in need, young and old.
Would you say CSVI is a worthwhile organization to give to?
I believe it is crucial that all, near and far, give to CSVI when at all possible. The resources available are so valuable, as every dollar goes directly to a Virgin Islander in need.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I hope that more Virgin Islanders become aware of CSVI and seek assistance and support. In this community, it can sometimes feel like such a daunting task to find resources. CSVI is specifically tailored for you and will assist you with open arms.
